Join us for an evening class focused on singing with Raag Yaman, a traditional Indian musical improvisational structure known for its serene and uplifting melodies. Annu and Anand will guide you in opening up and projecting your voice, helping you to explore the nuances of this beautiful Raag.

Benefits include better breathing, more breath control, and activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which supports relaxation. Singing also promotes heart health and benefits the pituitary gland (hypofyse) and thyroid gland (schildklier).

Dr. Anand Kumar (Ph.D. in Sitar)
Anand Ji is a very renowned Sitar player in India and travels throughout  India and the world giving Sitar recitals. His father was one of the most famous tabla players of his era.  Their family is the  center of  Varanasi music culture, the Benares Gharana. (A school of music that came out of the courts of the Maharajas, the kings of old  pre colonized India. Both Annu and Anand have fascinating histories to explain.

Discover the musical odyssey of Annupriya (1997), a unique voice in the world of Indian classical vocal music. Breaking away from the conventional norms, Annu holds a master’s degree from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in classical vocal music. This is a remarkable feat given her family has no professional musical heritage. In a cultural landscape where musical traditions typically course through familial veins, Annu’s path stands as an inspiring departure from the norm.
